Son Bunyola Resort and Villas

“Not the level of care or urgency expected from a Michelin Key hotel. We were referred to Son Bunyola by another luxury hotel in Mallorca after our original honeymoon hotel unexpectedly postponed its opening. Son Bunyola initially told that hotel they had availability for our dates and were willing to help affected guests. We responded within the hour that we wanted to proceed with the booking. By the next day, Son Bunyola told us they were now fully booked because additional reservations had come in through their online channels. In other words, availability was discussed for displaced honeymoon guests, we confirmed we wanted to move forward, and then the room was apparently given away before the hotels could finalize the booking. I want to be fair: Son Bunyola did not create the original problem, and I appreciate that they were initially willing to help. That is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, the way this was handled fell dramatically short of what I would expect from a luxury property, let alone a Michelin Key hotel. At this level, customer service should be proactive, communicative, and capable of holding a room temporarily while a displaced guest is actively confirming a reservation. Instead, we were left scrambling to save our honeymoon at the last minute. The lack of coordination and urgency was incredibly disappointing, especially given the stakes and the price point of the property. We know many luxury travel advisors and frequent travelers, and unfortunately this is not a property I would feel comfortable recommending based on how this situation was handled. Beautiful hotels are not enough at this level. Service, communication, and follow-through matter just as much.”

“A Truly Unforgettable Stay! From the moment we arrived, this hotel exceeded every expectation. The property is absolutely stunning, beyond beautiful, with breathtaking views in every direction. Everything was impeccably clean, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the hiking trails right on the property, perfect for exploring the natural surroundings and soaking in the scenery. This place is the definition of luxury. We felt pampered and relaxed from start to finish and honestly didn’t want to leave.”

“One of the most magnificent hotel experiences of my entire life. The service is of the highest quality (think, Four Seasons) and the setting is absolutely stunning. You can tell that Sir Branson genuinely cared about this property as he and his team developed it, and the staff are wonderful stewards of the property. The hotel employees (Guido, in particular!) will go to all lengths to ensure a pleasant stay. They were responsive and easy to communicate with from prior to our stay until the moment we left. This hotel is approximately 45 minutes from Palma and feels extremely private and secluded, tucked away in the north of the island. THANK YOU Son Bunyola for making our stay so pleasant.”

“We recently spent an unforgettable week at Son Bunyola, and everything about our stay was truly 5 stars. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was perfect. Both restaurants served exceptional food—each meal felt like a gourmet experience. The property itself is breathtaking, easily the most beautiful resort we’ve ever visited. Surrounded by stunning views and peaceful surroundings, it felt like an escape to paradise. The pool was a fantastic spot to relax and unwind, and we found ourselves spending hours there every day. If you’re looking to explore more of the island, the staff is incredibly helpful with recommendations and can arrange anything you need, making it easy to discover the best of Mallorca while still enjoying the tranquility of the resort.
