Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 20 October 2026 · How we review hotels
History lovers who want the countryside and the coast in equal measure should consider Predi Son Jaumell Hotel Rural, a restored 18th-century house just outside Capdepera. The grounds are the real draw: a garden with an outdoor pool and hammocks, ancient caves and a Bronze Age path that leads down to the sea. Suites pair rustic décor with spa bathtubs, and the kitchen stays local, from a Mallorcan breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade yoghurt to Mallorcan lunches and dinners. The beach is a six-minute drive and Capdepera Golf Course five. That rural setting does limit you, though: without a car you are largely tied to the hotel, and Palma is about an hour and a quarter away.
Guests score it 9.2 out of 10 — the average across the 54 hotels we list on Mallorca is 9.1.
Featured in our guide: 12 Luxury Boutique Hotels in Mallorca: Selected and Ranked
- The property retains original stonework and architectural details from its 18th-century origins, giving the hotel a sense of history rarely found in newer countryside accommodations on the island.
- Each suite includes a spa bathtub alongside bathrobes and slippers, offering a level of comfort that elevates the otherwise rustic, understated décor throughout the property.
- Palma Airport and the capital are both around an hour and 15 minutes away, which is worth factoring into arrival and departure plans, especially for shorter stays.
- Given the countryside location outside Capdepera, guests without a rental car may find it difficult to reach nearby towns, restaurants or attractions independently.

Reviews from Google“We’ve just returned from four days here and had a great stay overall. The rooms and amenities were excellent, and the hotel is incredibly beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. It really is an oasis where you can completely switch off, away from nearby towns and villages. The pool area is fantastic, and breakfast was also lovely. Our only criticism, and unfortunately one that came up repeatedly during our stay, was the service. On several occasions, service was quite slow, and we were given the wrong food or drinks. For example, I ordered a coffee on one occasion which never arrived, and on another I ordered a smoothie but received the wrong one. We also tried to order some ice to our room and were told there would be a €10 charge. Other guests also commented on the poor service throughout their stay. In general the service was just very slow. However, Miriam at the front desk was great! Overall, it’s a beautiful and peaceful hotel with great facilities. The staff were all really lovely and well meaning but the service could certainly be improved to match the quality of the rest of the experience.”
“We ate the restaurant 3 of the 6 evenings we spent in Mallorca. We stayed at a nearby resort but look forward to staying at the hotel in the future. We absolutely loved the restaurant. Each night we tried different traditional Mallorcan dishes. The pictures here are from our last night. We had salmon and carpaccio appetizers. We also had homemade bread with olives, aioli, and tomatoes. For my main dish I had the Iberian pork and then the cheesecake. We had wine from their vineyard each night. Everything was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is stunning.”
“We stayed at hotel Son Jaumell as the final stop on our honeymoon and were overwhelmed by the kindness of all the staff and the how stunning the property is. Our stay was as close to perfect as you can get - truly amazing. We were greeted by Vanessa on arrival, she was so pleasant and helpful and offered us a glass of Cava which was a lovely touch. Our room was absolutely beautiful, super spacious and clean, topped up with bottles of still and sparking water and tea/ coffee daily. The property is close to Arta, Capdepera and Cala Ratjada but still far away enough to have the rural retreat feel. Lying by the pool, listening to the birds chirping whilst drinking an Aperol was a great way to unwind. For a smaller hotel, we were very impressed with the breakfast offering. The staff took coffee orders and you could also order eggs to your liking (omelette, eggs Benedict etc) as well as a decent size buffet including fresh fruit, meats, cheese pastries and bread. We did not eat at the property for lunch or dinner but everything we saw looked lovely. We will need to try when we undoubtedly come back to stay! Thank you again to all the wonderful staff who truly make this place so special.”
“We stayed at Predi Son Jamuell for a few times, it was often satisfying but last time we had an issue with the hotel price, we booked in july and just a few days later they lowered the price, which made a 70€ price difference per NIGHT. (which is quite significant at a 10 days stay) I adressed this issues several times to the booking department and the hotel itsself. They refused to help further and stopped the communication despite we had a flexible booking. The promise to give you the "best price guarantee" on their website is false advertising. I am happy to change this review if they finally respond us. Bad service!”
“We really enjoyed this hotel when we visited. It had really nice grounds that felt peaceful but is still close to attractions, etc. We had an issue with our ground-floor room on the first night (damp and poor air conditioning), but the staff quickly moved us to a room in the main building, which made a huge difference. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the free wine from their vineyard was a nice touch. The staff were really helpful too, making sure we had a great stay. The bistro food was very good, and the breakfast options changed daily, which we loved. We’d definitely recommend this hotel but suggest asking for a room in the main building.”
