Tripplo’s hotel summary

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 20 October 2026 · How we review hotels

Couples who want to explore Palma's old town on foot and come home to a piece of 18th-century architecture should look at Palacio Can Marqués by Puro. The restored palace in the Lonja quarter keeps its rare inverted imperial staircase, along with a garden that feels unexpected in such a dense neighbourhood. The port is a five-minute walk away, the Yacht Club six, and Passeig del Born and the cathedral are close by. A spa, gym, restaurant and terrace bar mean you need not head out for everything. Drivers will find it harder going: old-town streets are narrow, and parking has to be found nearby and paid for.

Set within a restored 18th-century palace in Palma's old town, Palacio Can Marqués by Puro pairs historic architecture, including its notable inverted imperial staircase, with a garden, spa and modern comforts. Its location near the port, Palma Cathedral and the Yacht Club makes it a fitting choice for couples and travelers drawn to the character of the Lonja district over larger resort-style properties.

Guests score it 9.5 out of 10 — the average across the 54 hotels we list on Mallorca is 9.1.

Featured in our guide: 12 Luxury Boutique Hotels in Mallorca: Selected and Ranked

  • The palace retains original 18th-century details, including a rare inverted imperial staircase, giving guests a genuine sense of Palma's architectural heritage rather than a generic luxury interior.
  • A 5-minute walk to the port and 6 minutes to Palma Yacht Club place guests within easy reach of the Lonja district, Passeig del Born and Palma Cathedral.

Rooms & which one to pick

Our tip: If there are more than two of you, the Riad Penthouse Suite is the only option that sleeps four, thanks to its queen bed plus sofa bed. For a couple, most of the other rooms (Deluxe Junior Suite, Junior Suite, Executive Suite, Superior Suite, Deluxe Suite, Suite with Terrace, Deluxe Double Room) all sleep two with a single queen or king bed, so pick by name and price rather than features; only MIRAGE differs, offering a sofa bed instead of a queen for two guests.

“We stayed in the Rose suite, up one set of stairs right off the check in desk. It is a large room with many terrace doors, windows and interior wood shutters to keep it dark in the morning. A lot of clothing and baggage storage, mini fridge, coffee bar and safe. The terrace is large with a lot of seating, shade and breeze. It was a lovely place to relax and hang out. No TV in the room. Comfortable bed, nice tub and big shower. If you are traveling on a rental car contact them for access to the hotel. The streets after VERY narrow and have restrictions. Check your directions for the most direct route through the last narrow streets. Also request the AC you be on before your arrival. There is no adjustment in the room, they control the temp at the desk. It did not take long to cool down, and the had a nice fan we used to help. Valet it's only available certain hours and breakfast didn't start until 8am. They did offer a bagged meal since we left before 8am. 2 small dogs were allowed with a fee. Extremely helpful and lovely to work with staff.”

“This hotel is a true find. We stayed in June for a few days and there aren’t enough positive things I can say about it. It’s like stepping into another world the building is so beautiful and the rooms are beautifully furnished to such a high standard. The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful with lots of priceless local information. The food was first class making it very difficult to know what to chose to have when everything was so delicious and the roof top bar had the best negroni’s my husband has every had. Needless to say we can’t wait to return to do it all again. Thank you to all the management and staff for giving us a truly memorable stay.”

“This place is a gem. The property location is quiet, but only 50 meters from the Main Street. The design of the hotel and rooms are beautiful. They have a WhatsApp when you check in to make communication throughout your stay easy. The attached restaurant is gorgeous and the food is delicious, and there are also many good options on the same street and neighborhood throughout your stay. The staff is extremely helpful if you need recommendations on anything in the area. This will be my new go to anytime I am in Palma.”

“The other reviews say it all- what an incredibly beautiful place, but what marked our experience wasn’t just the elegant environment, but the outstanding staff. From the moment we arrived we were treated with so much authenticity and care. You can tell how well the staff works together to make their hotel unforgettable and welcoming, and makes sure every guest feels known and seen. Special thanks to Meriem for the friendly welcome and recommendations, she rocks. :)”

“Wow! I don’t think I have enough words for this hotel. It was STUNNING! The history behind it, the decor, the exclusivity, the location and the setting was just fantastic. We stayed in Cascade which was a two floor suite. The amenities in the room were wonderful. Cleaned and turned down everyday. The towels were always so fluffy. Every time we left for the day and returned back to the hotel, we were just mesmerised at the beauty this hotel has to offer. Onto the service, another WOW factor. We were always greeted by name. The staff always had smiles on their faces and were so polite and friendly. I don’t know if we will ever find a hotel to beat it. The only downside was the parking and access by car to the hotel but they resolved that by meeting us by the Main Street and helping with our luggage. Wouldn’t recommend a hire car but the location is just amazing so you wouldn’t need it in this area. 100/10 to you all at Palacio!”
