Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 20 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Spa enthusiasts and travellers wanting quiet evenings close to the beach will find this contemporary hotel best for their trip. A large wellness centre and a panoramic rooftop terrace are key advantages. However, the surrounding resort area is crowded, parking incurs a daily charge, and the outdoor pool is unheated.
Guests score it 9.1 out of 10 — the average across the 54 hotels we list on Mallorca is 9.1.
- The Heaven Rooftop Bar offers sweeping views of the Bay of Palma, serving craft cocktails alongside a quiet plunge pool.
- The wellness area features an indoor thermal pool, Finnish sauna, and Turkish bath, providing a comprehensive retreat from the beach crowd.
- Playa de Palma is a highly popular tourist destination, meaning nearby streets and the beach can feel congested during peak summer months.
- Guests arriving by car must pay a daily fee to use the secure underground garage, as street parking is limited.

Reviews from Google“Our overall experience at this hotel was satisfactory. The hotel is well located and has several positive aspects. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. The staff at the breakfast buffet can be quite stressful and often give the impression that they want guests to leave as quickly as possible. One waitress in particular, whose name I will not mention, was especially unpleasant. My family and I only had dinner at the hotel once, and the experience was slightly better than breakfast. We were served by a Senegalese waitress who was extremely kind and professional, and I would like to sincerely thank her for her excellent service. The spa area was nice, with plenty of activities and facilities to enjoy. However, there was an issue with the towels: once downstairs, guests are essentially stuck and unable to go back upstairs while wet, which is quite inconvenient. The reception staff were friendly and clearly did their best to assist guests. However, it was apparent that their training may not have been adequate, as they sometimes seemed unprepared to handle certain situations. Overall, the hotel has a number of strengths, particularly its location, but unfortunately, the various inconveniences we experienced mean that we would not consider returning in the future.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this wonderful hotel in Mallorca. The food was outstanding every day - fresh, flavorful, and a true highlight. The rooms were beautifully spacious and comfortable, and the rooftop bar entertainment added a lovely touch to the evenings. While the hotel aims for a true 5-star experience, a few, but not small, details would position it accordingly: complimentary water in the room (or option to get filtered water) and water in the restaurant, even if part of the bufet setup. A more generous supply of coffee pods (3 per room for a 7 night-stay makes no sense). Most importantly, some music by the pool would significantly enhance the atmosphere. Overall, it was a memorable stay and I would recommended staying here!”
“We have stayed in many five-star hotels over the years, including several Iberostar properties, and this was the first time we left feeling that the pool was managed more like a controlled zone than a place to relax. The issue was not the existence of rules. Every hotel has them, and we respect them. The problem was that a blanket prohibition on all recreational inflatable items—including a small mesh water hammock—was only discovered after arrival. Had we known this before booking, we would simply have chosen a different hotel. What disappointed us most was not the rule itself, but the way the situation was handled. Instead of a customer-focused discussion, every response repeated the same policy while avoiding our questions about when and how this restriction was communicated before booking. As the author of Don’t Just Guard, I couldn’t help smiling at the irony: after spending years writing about life behind secure doors, I finally found a swimming pool with stricter supervision than some correctional facilities. The hotel is modern, clean and professionally maintained, but guest experience is about more than beautiful buildings. Transparency before booking and a willingness to engage with reasonable customer questions matter just as much. If you simply want to swim, you will probably enjoy your stay. If relaxing on any type of inflatable floating lounger is part of your holiday, ask the hotel in writing before you book.”
“Absolutely amazing holiday at Hipotels playa de palma palace. Beautiful spotlessly clean room with a lovely glass of cava and meal on our arrival as we missed the evening meal. Cannot fault this hotel for cleanliness. The breakfast was delicious, every item of food you could wish food and also free cava with breakfast. The pool was a lovely temperature and very clean. Always enough sunloungers available with a parasol for each. The evening meal was amazing, fresh fish and meats cooked there and then Infront of you. The maids did an amazing job of cleaning the room and giving fresh towels. We had amazing waiter service from Fran & Daniel our two favourites who went above and beyond and always stopped for a nice chat to us each day (if you are reading it’s Joel & Charlotte the Aston Villa Fans) overall an amazing stay and would definitely go back! Thank you!”
“Great hotel, would definitely recommend! Positives: Amazing Food: Honestly better than any 5-star hotels I've stayed at. They host a great Thursday seafood gala dinner with live piano in the lobby. Rooms: Very spacious Activities: They have table tennis, pool, darts, t-shirt painting, yoga, water polo, plus a small gym, indoor pool, and sauna. Evenings: The rooftop bar has live entertainment every night (except Wednesdays) Negatives: Pool Schedule: The pool is only open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which is frustrating since it gets hot from about 9:00 AM right through to 7:30 PM in June. Plus, there's no music, and the pool bar doesn't open until 12pm. Drinks: The cocktails are slightly overpriced. Tip: go to the 4 star hotel next door (same compound) for cheaper drinks Strict Dress Code: They enforce a long-trousers rule for men at dinner. Awkward Bathroom: The room design lacks a door between the bathroom/toilet and the bedroom, not much privacy... Things that make absolutely no sense for a 5-Star hotel: Coffee: In the room, you only get three coffee pods for your entire stay, and they charge €1 for each extra pod. No free water: They don't offer complimentary water with dinner (or any other free drink).”
