Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 22 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Schlössle Hotel is for travellers who want to sleep inside Tallinn's medieval story rather than look at it. The hotel fills buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries a short walk from Town Hall Square, and guests describe the atmosphere as charming and quite unlike a standard city hotel. They speak warmly about the staff, the breakfast with its glass of sparkling wine, the antique-furnished rooms and beds that are hard to leave, and the sauna is included in the stay. The old walls come with practical limits, however. There is no lift and the stairs are steep and narrow, cars cannot pull up at the door, and at busy times the restaurant and bar can feel short-staffed. Couples on a city break who are happy to carry a bag up a few flights will find an atmospheric, well-run base; anyone who needs step-free access should look elsewhere.
Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 — the average across the 10 hotels we list in Tallinn is 9.3.
- The hotel is set in buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries, and guests describe it as charming, historic and unlike anywhere else they have stayed, with cosy dining rooms and a pretty terrace.
- Town Hall Square is about 150 metres away, so the Old Town's streets, sights and restaurants are all on foot. Location is the point guests mention most often.
- This is a historic building without a lift, and the stairs to the bedrooms are steep and narrow. Most guests accept it as part of the charm, but it matters if you have heavy luggage or limited mobility.
- The hotel stands on an Old Town street where taxis wait a little way off, so door-to-door arrival is awkward and parking is not straightforward.
