Le Bristol Paris, Oetker Hotels

5-Star Hotel

Le Bristol Paris is an icon of French elegance and art de vivre on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The hotel received the official French “Palace” distinction in 2011 and is a brief walk from a handful of other iconic palaces, most notably the Élysée, the Grand Palais and the Louvre.

Renovated throughout, the 190 rooms and suites maintain all of their classic sophistication with furnishings from the Louis XV and Louis XVI eras and original artworks, complemented by a bright, contemporary palette of soft hues, sumptuous woodwork and noble interiors. Views to one side extend over Paris’s rooftops, all the way to the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre. To the other, a lush 13,000 square foot courtyard garden offers a soothing oasis of greenery and calm.

Le Bristol is perhaps best known for its outstanding dining tradition that the hotel has engendered for over 20 years.

The two restaurants offer a rarefied encounter with regionally sourced ingredients transformed into delicious dishes by expert hands, to be enjoyed with homemade ancient grain bread produced entirely in-house — from mill, to hearth, to plate.

A spirit of joie de vivre permeates the hotel from early morning to after midnight. Café Antonia is a quiet refuge for a light meal or afternoon tea lavish with sweet treats by Head of Pastry Chef, taken either in the lobby bar or (season permitting) in the spectacular courtyard garden. As night falls, Le Bar du Bristol awakens, low lit in purple neon, for the utterly Parisian B.A.D. (Bristol After Dark) evening. The rooftop swimming pool and outdoor sun terrace, a fully equipped fitness gym, a steam room and The Spa Le Bristol by La Mer provide luxurious avenues of wellbeing to counterbalance the hedonistic pleasures. And, never overlooked, precious younger guests can enjoy spa treatments designed exclusively for children in collaboration with Bonpoint.

Genuine Parisian elegance since 1925.

“I had a deeply disappointing experience at this hotel that left me feeling humiliated. I stopped by Café Antonia to meet colleagues for coffee before an important professional meeting. While my colleagues were already seated inside the café, I was stopped at the hotel entrance and told that I could not enter without a hotel reservation. It was only after one of my colleagues came outside and personally escorted me in that I was allowed to enter without any further questions. This experience was upsetting because I was clearly visiting the café to meet guests who were already inside. I cannot know the reason for the way I was treated, but the contrast between my experience and that of my colleagues left me wondering whether my appearance, gender, or ethnicity influenced the interaction. As an Indian woman, it is difficult not to ask that question. For a hotel with an international reputation for excellence, I expected a much higher standard of hospitality, professionalism, and inclusiveness. If restricting entry to the café without a hotel reservation is indeed the hotel's policy, it should be communicated clearly and applied consistently to everyone. If it is not standard policy, I hope the management investigates what happened and ensures that no other visitor has a similar experience. Luxury hospitality is not only about beautiful interiors and impeccable service—it is also about making every guest and visitor feel respected, welcome, and treated with dignity. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.”

“Very disappointing experience, especially for a hotel positioning itself at this level. This was our first time staying at the hotel, and we arrived with high expectations, but unfortunately left very disappointed. We made a reservation for an Executive room, but encountered a complete lack of flexibility and willingness to find a reasonable solution despite clear circumstances, as the situation was ultimately subject to their discretion. For a hotel of this standing, one would expect a far higher level of responsiveness and consideration. Today, guests value service, overall experience, and a thoughtful, client-oriented approach far more than the room itself, which can be found at a similar standard in many places.”

“Overall, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful and tasteful hotel in Paris. Professional and adept staff. Exceptionally gorgeous decoration and furnishings throughout the palace. Varied and delightful dining options. Multiple stays and visits over the years lead me to these observations.”

“Just be aware of Le Bristol. It is of course a very luxurious hotel with a great lobby and plenty of staff. The rooms are also great. But we experienced quite a few issues with things not working in the room, poor service, issues with a taxi they were meant to book for us. What we found a little frustrating was the response to these issues. The staff, whilst very polite and smiling, did not really go out to put them right. Even when we raised them with the management there was a bit of a shoulder shrug. They need a 'we are going to put this right' attitude, which in our experience they didn't have. Be aware of having breakfast here also. The setting is very grand, but the food is blooming terrible. It is bland - scrambled eggs piled on a plate with absolutely nothing else, for instance. Again, not enough desire to put things right if you raise this. Any reasonable Paris cafe does better. It is very expensive - expect to pay well over 100 euros for breakfast for 2. One other thing - location. If you like high end shops full of very rich people with staff that are only interested in you if you are enormously wealthy, the location is perfect. If you prefer (as we do), lively street cafes, patisseries, great restaurants, the buzz of Paris, then the location is bad - you will need to walk for 20 minutes or further to the Marais or St German to experience this.”
