Tripplo’s hotel summary

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 21 October 2026 · How we review hotels

Villa Cora is well suited for travellers wishing to escape the city crowds in a tranquil nineteenth-century aristocratic estate. Standout features include a heated outdoor pool situated within its private park and a complimentary shuttle service to central sights. Potential drawbacks include an uphill walk from the historic centre and limited dining options in the immediate vicinity.

Set in an aristocratic 19th-century estate overlooking the Boboli Gardens, Villa Cora offers a refined sanctuary just outside Florence's bustling core. The property combines ornate, historical interiors with modern luxuries like a heated outdoor pool and a subterranean spa. It is particularly suited for travelers seeking a tranquil, resort-style stay while remaining within easy reach of the city's artistic treasures.

Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 — the average across the 15 hotels we list in Florence is 9.4.

  • The heated pool is a rare asset in Florence, set within a manicured park of ancient trees and rose gardens that offers a quiet retreat after sightseeing.
  • Originally built as an aristocratic residence, the villa features preserved frescoes, ornate mirrors, and period furniture that evoke the grandeur of late 19th-century Florentine society.

“A stunning historic villa that delivers on every single level! Villa Cora was one of the best stays I've had in Florence, expansive gardens, a lovely pool, and views over the Tuscan hills, with a real sense of privacy and space. My suite was spacious and truly beautiful, and the grand buffet breakfast was a definite highlight. The included shuttle made it effortless to enjoy the best of both worlds: the calm of the villa and the buzz of Florence just minutes away. I travelled solo and felt completely comfortable the whole time. I'll be returning with my family, and recommending Villa Cora to everyone I know!”

“We stayed at the Villa Cora Hotel in Florence for my birthday in March and the place was just stunning. The views, the ambience/atmosphere, the decor, the service, just about everything was superb. Late check-out was unfortunately not possible because of a special event that took place on that day, however, the amazing gentleman (tall guy with bracelets) at the reception offered us a complimentary spa treatment instead and also arranged a birthday cake to be delivered to our room and provided super service during our entire stay. If you are looking for a romantic getaway in Florence, this is the place to stay.”

“We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Cora for four amazing days. This hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever stayed at. We had an amazing two bedroom suite with two bathrooms. The decor of the rooms was simply beautiful. The service was fantastic and impeccable. The dinners were exquisite along with an amazing presentation. The hotel is not in the center of town, but they had a luxurious shuttle to take and bring you back or they would quickly got you a taxi if requested. If you ever want to experience something amazing in Florence, give Villa Cora a try. You will not be disappointed, but will be marveled with the beauty of the hotel and the unparalleled service.”

“We stayed at the Villa Cora for our engagement trip. It was exceptional. The staff was incredibly helpful, responsive and kind. A true 5 - star hotel experience. The breakfast was incredible - my only regretting is not pre-purchasing breakfast when we booked! My one point of feedback - they have a shuttle to the city center but it only runs 9:30-12:30 and 15:30 - 19:30. Having that gap in the middle of the day was a bit frustrating. We would go down to the city in the morning and want to return to the hotel freshen up mid afternoon before heading back down to dinner. Not having the shuttle available from 12:30-15:30 left us at the mercy of the Florence cabs which are not the easiest to find! Anyway small detail. The hotel is beautiful, and everything about our stay was amazing.”
