Portrait Firenze - Lungarno Collection is best for travellers who appreciate high-tech amenities and bespoke mid-century style. Guests rate it exceptionally well. The property is known for its riverfront suites with panoramic views and handcrafted Italian design. Prospective guests should note that the hotel has limited on-site leisure facilities, and there is high-traffic pedestrian noise outside.
Guests score it 9.5 out of 10 — the average across the 15 hotels we list in Florence is 9.4.
- Situated just steps from the historic bridge, the hotel offers effortless access to Florence's primary cultural sites, high-end boutiques, and renowned dining spots.
- Architect Michele Bönan designed the interiors to evoke 1950s high fashion, using bespoke furniture, warm wood paneling, and curated photography that honors Florentine craftsmanship.

Reviews from Google“The Portrait is incredibly well located along the river Arno with a proximal and panoramic view of the famous Ponte Vecchio. The hotel has become a little dated and probably requires a refurbishment if it wants to compete with the lofty standards the big brands are introducing into Italy. Italy’s old style hotels always rested on the laurels of their location to compensate for average service. This is no longer tolerated by the discerning traveler to Italy as the likes of the Rosewood and Belmond are setting the pace. Long overdue, as the desirability to visit Italy was always somewhat tempered by the indifference of Italian hospitality service. Thankfully, the staff at the Portrait are excellent, energetic and eager to please. Our suite, whilst comfortable and spacious, fell short in the bathroom design. Tiny and poorly planned and completely out of step with the dimensions of the rest of the suite. Luxury hospitality requires all blocks to be ticket and a poorly designed bathroom handicaps an overall experience. Caffe dell Oro served breakfast and doubled into a lunch cafe that morphed into an aperitivo bar at sundown. It has a wonderful road terrace, ideal for people watching. It is humorous to see how many of us believe we are worthy of such photographic self-adulation. Who will let them know that no one is actually interested in their Florence experience nor in their choice of pizza!”
“Flawless experience at Portrait Florence, amazing location, great views, and a beautiful room with attention to every single detail, from beautiful interior design, to comfort, Ferragamo toiletries, Dysson hair drier and flatiron, cute little Ferragamo treats every morning and night, great breakfast at their Caffe del' oro, with both buffet and à la carte (they even have matcha), room service available from all their restaurants (Michelin quality), and most importantly the nicest staff, because the best stays are made perfect by people, not just by amenities. Carolina, Rafael, Matteo, young Julien and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, including helping with recommendations and reservations. All concierges were a what’s app answer away too. Would definitely come back!”
“The hotel is incredibly exquisite and high-end. The entire staff is not only well-groomed and handsome but also polite, chivalrous, and warm, making us feel exceptionally comfortable. It is truly a rare gem among luxury hotels in Florence, and I am so glad we had the chance to stay here. We stayed in a Family Suite for two days and found it extremely cozy. The only minor drawback was that our room (301) faced the back and had no view at all, which was a bit of a shame. Aside from that, everything was impeccable. Despite the room view, we would still highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence.”
“A truly beautiful experience. From the very first moment, you genuinely feel at home. The team is outstanding: always present yet never intrusive, incredibly attentive to every single detail, and able to anticipate your needs with grace and a natural smile. The view is absolutely incredible — the kind that alone makes the trip worthwhile and stays with you long after you leave. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence: staying at Portrait is an absolute must. A heartfelt thank you to all the members of the team — I won’t mention names simply because there are too many — but every single one of them was excellent. A rare level of hospitality, authentic and truly unforgettable. Grazie mille!”
“Our stay at Portrait Firenze was once again exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Caterina for the generous double upgrade, Mateo for his impeccable service and warmth throughout our stay, and Becks for his incredible attention to detail. We also had the pleasure of meeting David and hearing about his adventures — a lovely personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. What truly sets Portrait Firenze apart is how they make you feel like family, not just guests. The Lifestyle Team’s care, thoughtfulness, and spot-on recommendations elevate every stay. Our suite was stunning — incredibly spacious, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully designed, with two full bathrooms that made it feel more like a private residence than a hotel. A truly special place that keeps us coming back.”
