Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 22 October 2026 · How we review hotels
This property suits pedestrian explorers who want to stay directly on a vibrant historic street. It blends historic palace architecture with modern interiors, boasting a tranquil indoor pool and a central location on pedestrianised Rua das Flores. However, direct vehicle access is restricted by the pedestrian zone, and room sizes vary in the historic wing.
Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 — the average across the 14 hotels we list in Porto is 9.3.
- The hotel seamlessly integrates a 16th-century manor house with a contemporary wing, preserving original granite walls, high ceilings, and historic courtyard charm.
- Situated on one of Porto's most vibrant pedestrian streets, the hotel places guests steps from Sao Bento Station, independent boutiques, and historic cafes.
- Because the hotel is on a pedestrian-only street, taxis cannot drop guests directly at the entrance. Staff are readily available to assist with luggage from nearby drop-off points.
- Due to the historic layout of the original palace, some rooms are smaller or have narrower windows. Booking a premium category ensures more space and natural light.

Reviews from Google“This is a fantastic hotel in the centre of the historic town of Porto. Pedestrian walking street outside takes you to the river in 10 mins and is at the centre of great shopping and food. The hotel is luxurious. We stayed in the historic part of the hotel and there is a modern wing. Our room was wonderful. Very comfy bed and large bathroom We stayed in a superior room Breakfast was included and it was really good. A great choice of options. Staff are welcoming and helpful. There is a small inside pool , steam and sauna. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Porto.”
“PortoBay Flores is an outstanding hotel in the heart of Porto. The location is exceptional—just two or three blocks from virtually all of the city’s major attractions, making it easy to explore on foot. The rooms are comfortable, and well-appointed, and the staff is exceptionally friendly, professional, and accommodating. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend PortoBay Flores to anyone planning a visit to Porto. It’s an excellent choice, with a perfect combination of comfort, service, and an unbeatable location. P.S, Breakfast buffet very good”
“It was quite difficult to find a hotel with a really good view in this area, but in the end I’m very glad we chose this one. We stayed for three nights in a Junior Suite on the 8th floor. The bedroom is located upstairs, separate from the main living area, which made it very quiet and comfortable for sleeping. The highlight for us was definitely the view. The large windows extend all the way up to the high ceiling and offer a beautiful view of the cathedral, with a partial view of the river as well. It was wonderful to enjoy the scenery from the room throughout the day, and I was very happy with our choice of room. The staff were also consistently friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable three nights, with a great combination of location, views, and room quality. I would happily stay here again if I return to Porto. Muito obrigado por uma estadia maravilhosa!”
“This was a good hotel. Not the most perfect stay I have ever had but not bad. I do expect a bit more from a 5 star with a Michelin ticket, at least as of 2026. Especially if this would be compared to the ritz or something like it. The WiFi here was not the best especially in the elevator and hallway leading to the elevators. I didn’t have a problem at other properties so interesting I did here. If you are gay the showers are not super conducive to what is needed inside those, aka the shower not draining amazing. The doors also don’t close well or automatically in the rooms. Have to push the door closed every time to make sure they actually closed. The restaurant was not bad downstairs, but they were a bit obsessed with getting reservations. Which is interesting cause they turn down customers on a busy street for reservations. If you are using the drink ticket you need to use it before 6pm which is something they did not mention. They could accommodate gluten free for someone who has celiac disease. The review left on the app find me gf is also below. It had not been rated before. stayed at hotel portobay flôres, they have a small tv in the restaurant portion for games and accept reservations, they're menu isn't marked as GF but they have a lot of knowledge on the subject and can guide you, free breakfast wise they also have a tiny section for GF breads and cake (even without diary) and the eggs and bacon and yogurt never did me wrong!”
“We had had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is unbeatable—it's within short walking distance of the city center and main attractions, yet the room was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Being so close to the metro made exploring the city incredibly convenient. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and even offered great local tips for nearby restaurants. My room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with a fantastic view of the city. I also highly recommend the breakfast buffet; it had a great variety of fresh options.”
