Spa enthusiasts seeking a distinctive maritime vibe will appreciate Hotel Capo La Gala & Wellness. Highlights include striking marine-themed limestone architecture, comprehensive wellness facilities, and direct private beach and cove access with views of the Bay of Naples. On the downside, the isolated location requires vehicle access, and the rocky coast limits options for those seeking a sandy beach.

Tucked into the rocky cliffs of Vico Equense, Hotel Capo La Gala & Wellness offers a tranquil maritime retreat overlooking the Bay of Naples. Its distinctive stone architecture and private coastal access provide a serene sanctuary between Pompeii and Sorrento. It is ideally suited for couples seeking a quiet, design-focused escape with direct sea access and refined wellness facilities.

Guests score it 9.5 out of 10 — the average across the 18 hotels we list on Amalfi Coast is 9.5.

  • Designed by architect Marco De Luca, the property integrates local limestone with a nautical aesthetic, creating a seamless connection between the interiors and the surrounding cliffside.
  • Guests enjoy direct access to a private rocky beach and sunbathing decks, offering an exclusive and tranquil alternative to the busier public beaches of the Sorrento coast.

“What a nice retreat to spend some days at the sea and pool. The service was outstanding and the staff was very attentive. With a dedicated whatsapp number of the front desk you could arrange shuttle transfers or dinner reservations. The answer was always estonishing quick - what a service! The whole premises was very clean and quiet making it a relaxing stay.”

“Stayed for 7 nights. I have never experienced such wonderful service from a hotel before. Everyone from reception, the bar, the lifeguards and restaurant staff were all amazing. Location Is fantastic and easy to get around especially with the shuttle service, and the drivers are very professional, nice and have great recommendations for places to eat. Beachfront is great and the lifeguards go above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable. Rooms were spacious with a stunning view, room service was excellent and the cleaners were very kind and courteous. Hotel goes out of their way to make sure you are happy, and the breakfast buffet was great.”

“Pros - the view is incredible this is the main feature of this hotel, absolutely stunning. - reception staff are very welcoming and helpful - well styled hotel - quiet and being out of the main town area was a blessing in comparison to visiting Sorrento - reliable and easy to arrange shuttle bus to nearby town with train station Cons - for a hotel with a Michelin star then breakfast is lacking, the scrambled eggs weren't freshly made and tasted like powdered prepared eggs, the pastries whilst pretty lack any depth of flavour - pool side bar staff are nice but lack the level of standard of service that would expect from a 5 star hotel, often hard to catch hold of to order drinks for instance - the rooms require you to have a plastic credit card style key plugged in to use the electrics and you're only provided with one key so when you leave the room nothing is on charge nor is the air con Overall amazing views but not quite the 5 star experience we had hoped for.”

“Absolutely loved our stay at Capo La Gala. A beautiful hotel in an incredible setting, right on the water. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, the food was excellent and the whole place has a wonderfully relaxed feel. We had a great room with lovely balcony and sitting with a glass of wine and those views was pretty hard to beat.”

“Dear Mr Acampora, thank you for your reply. I'd like to clarify the confusion around the flight: my journey was disrupted which is why I initially described it as cancelled the practical result was the same in that I could not travel as planned. I accept this was communicated imprecisely in a stressful moment, and I apologise for that. What remains true is that I was unable to use the booking due to circumstances outside my control, and I contacted you as soon as I knew. I'm not asking you to ignore your policy, but to consider a goodwill gesture a refund like all other hotels gave. It is shocking yours is the only estabilishment would not on my stay refund this. I'd be glad to resolve this privately and update my review accordingly. Kind regards, Tatiana Collis”
