Macdonald Hotels discount code – get money off your luxury stay

Tripplo· Founder: Axel Hernborg· Last updated 5 October 2026

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' member rate and current offers, taken from Macdonald's own website. Most Macdonald hotels are four-star country, spa and city hotels across the UK; the one Macdonald itself describes as 5-star is Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel, set in seven acres of grounds a short walk from Bath's centre. Macdonald doesn't publish a public promo code for room stays at the moment, so you save through Macdonald Preferred, the price match and the packages on its offers pages.

Nothing in this list is a discount code. These are promotions that activate through a link — they may well cut the price, but there is no string to type at checkout.

Member price against list price

Join Macdonald Preferred before you compare: it is free, and according to Macdonald, members get 10% off flexible and early saver stay rates at participating hotels when they book on macdonaldhotels.co.uk. Sign in, then compare the member price with the public flexible rate for the same room and dates. Packages and seasonal offers are priced separately and don't get the extra 10%, so check which works out lower for your stay.

How we assess codes

The codes and offers on this page come from Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' own offers pages. For each one we give what it includes and the main conditions as they are published, and we remove it when the promotion ends.

Terms confirmed by a source means the terms appear on the brand's own website, not that we have made a test booking. Verified by Tripplo is only used after a documented UK checkout test that shows a lower total.

How to use a discount code

  1. Join Macdonald Preferred and sign in on macdonaldhotels.co.uk before you search.
  2. Choose the hotel and the room: for a 5-star stay, Bath Spa Hotel, and a suite or room upgrade if you want more space.
  3. Compare the rates: the member rate, a package such as a spa break or a 3-for-2 offer. Prepaid offers are often non-refundable.
  4. Check the price match: if you find a lower public rate for exactly the same booking within 24 hours, claim it by email.
  5. Compare the total before you pay.

Compare hotels at your destination

Macdonald's hotels are spread across England and Scotland, with Bath Spa Hotel in Bath and Old England and Leeming House in the Lake District. Our guides to luxury hotels in the Lake District and the United Kingdom compare hotels more widely and don't mean every hotel listed is a Macdonald hotel.

Other ways to save

Book-direct benefits. Booking on macdonaldhotels.co.uk gets you the best available room in your category, a one-hour late check-out and free pool and gym access at the spa hotels, subject to each hotel's exceptions.

Spa breaks. Bath Spa Hotel sells spa breaks that bundle a stay with ELEMIS or ishga treatments, dinner and breakfast, from a one-night Spa Break for Two to a two-night Ultimate Spa Break.

Gift vouchers. Macdonald sells monetary, short break, spa and dining vouchers on its own website, which can be used as full or part payment at its hotels and resorts.

Self-catering resorts. Macdonald's self-catering resorts in the UK and Spain run their own offers, such as four nights for the price of three, which are separate from the hotel rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not for room stays at the moment. Macdonald's savings come through the Macdonald Preferred member rate, its price match and the packages on macdonaldhotels.co.uk rather than public codes. When a new code appears on Macdonald's own site, we list it here.

Macdonald Preferred is free to join. According to Macdonald, members get 10% off flexible and early saver stay rates at participating hotels when they book direct, and for a limited time a £25 food and beverage credit per stay. The 10% doesn't apply to hotel-specific packages and seasonal offers.

Book on macdonaldhotels.co.uk, and if within 24 hours you find a lower publicly available rate for the same hotel, room type, inclusions, dates and conditions, email Macdonald's price match team. If the claim qualifies, Macdonald matches the lower rate and takes a further 10% off it. Member-only rates elsewhere don't count.

Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel, which Macdonald describes as its 5-star hotel in Bath, with an ELEMIS and ishga spa, an outdoor hydrotherapy pool and the Vellore Restaurant. Its spa breaks, such as the Sunday Spa Retreat, are sold on the hotel's own offers page. Macdonald's other hotels, including Old England on Lake Windermere, are four-star.

According to Macdonald, direct bookings get the best available room within the category you booked, a one-hour late check-out, free pool and gym access at its spa hotels and free parking at selected hotels. However, free parking isn't offered at Bath Spa Hotel or Old England, and the Better Direct benefits don't apply at Macdonald's self-catering resorts.
