“We had one of the best dining experiences of my life at the restaurant at lunch. Joaquim and the rest of the staff were just incredible. The food was to die for. Very expensive for the signature tasting menu but worth every euro. We were able to tour one of the hotel rooms after lunch and it was superb. This is an older hotel that has been in the same family for decades. Many of the staff, including the chef and Joaquim, have been there almost from the start. The setting of the property is incredible and was clearly wisely chosen decades ago. Only 16 or so rooms with two full pools, and two restaurants, in a great area. As for the food, the starters, especially the foie gras, were just amazing. The langoustine, the monkfish and the peach dessert were perfection. The signature menu changes daily but the chefs favorites menu is generally the same. The two menus are very close except for the main courses. Highly highly recommend both the restaurant and the hotel.”

“My husband and I came here for a spa day and dinner for our anniversary. We were blown away by the level of thought and hospitality that went into our visit. Pernilla, at the spa, was so lovely and ensured that our day was relaxing from start to finish. The spa itself is beautiful, overlooking the sea. Dinner at Vila Joya Sea was equally impressive — from the ambiance and oceanside views to the innovative dishes and warm staff. Overall, an absolute treat.”

“We had dinner at the restaurant. We had a 7 pm booking. Despite this we waited 45 mins to be seated, and we had to request to be seated. Silver service: very attentive and coordinated, but came across as not friendly - contrived smiles. My husband wanted a cigarette between courses and when he mentioned this, they said "no" and didn't permit it as they were serving the next course. (Um excuse me...)? So we asked for a break between courses & they seemed to be affronted by this. We've had plenty of Michelin star meals and its the genuineness and friendliness of the service that compliments the food and makes the whole experience special. The food was extraordinary and excellent. Service not so much. Great view. Cost was €769 including drinks (2 people) for tasting menu, which was more than expected.”

“Me and my wife came here for our honeymoon. It was a magical experience. We were left speechless. From the service, to the decorations and the ambience. Everything exceeded our wildest expectations!! And the food, it's just world class. It's better than anything I've ever had. I can't believe it's not 3 michelien stars. I am forever a fan and can't wait to come back again!”

“We visited Restaurant Vila Joya in 2024 to celebrate Lucas’ birthday and had a truly wonderful experience. From the start, everything felt special. We were seated with a beautiful ocean view, which already set the tone for the evening. The cocktails as an aperitif were creative, well-balanced, and very interesting - a great way to begin the night. We chose the tasting menu, as we usually do, and overall it was excellent. Beautifully presented dishes, great flavors, and a very smooth flow throughout the menu. The service was outstanding, professional yet warm, and impressively offered in several languages, which added to the relaxed and international atmosphere. The only dish I personally didn’t enjoy was the pigeon, it just wasn’t what I had hoped for in terms of meat preparation and flavor. That said, this is very much a personal preference and didn’t take away from the overall experience. All in all, it was a fantastic evening and a memorable fine-dining experience in a stunning setting. We truly enjoyed it and would absolutely recommend it for a special occasion.”

What guests actually say

Tripplo’s analysis uses a sample of 10 guest reviews. Texts may be shortened. Mentions are counted after automated classification and describe the sample, rather than every guest’s experience.

The sample follows how Booking.com and Google sort reviews, which puts satisfied guests first, so criticism is under-represented. Read the drawbacks below and the latest reviews on Booking.com before you book. Few guests have left written reviews for this hotel, so the analysis rests on just 10. Treat it as a pointer rather than the full picture.

Pools, beach & aquapark, the rooms, condition & cleanliness, noise levels and value for money are mentioned too rarely in the sample for an honest picture — we don't guess.
