Raffles İstanbul sits on one of the city's hills on the European side, next to the Levent, Ulus and Etiler districts. The view stretches from the Black Sea in the north to the Sea of Marmara in the south, taking in the waterfront mansions, the Maiden Tower in the Bosphorus, the historic peninsula with the Old City and, further out, the Princes’ Islands. Adjacent to the hotel is Zorlu Center, with restaurants, fashion and luxury boutiques and a performing arts centre that hosts international productions.
The hotel has 185 rooms and suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies overlooking the city. The modern interiors feature a large contemporary art collection, much of it commissioned from local artists. Bosphorus Lounge gives residents and hotel guests a place to meet, work and spend time with views across Istanbul, and the Raffles butler service is available to guests.
The outdoor pool looks out over the Istanbul skyline, while the daylit indoor pool is open all year. Raffles Spa has a traditional Turkish bath, saunas, wellness pools and sensory showers. With several access points to the terrace, it has nine treatment rooms – seven single and two for couples – plus a private jacuzzi room. Treatments include facials and the traditional gülsha hammam.
Dining ranges from casual to formal. Lavinia, at the heart of the lobby and surrounded by works of art, serves afternoon tea with savoury snacks and sweets from a buffet, and the seafood restaurant Sakhalin Istanbul is also in the lobby. The terrace, reached directly from Zorlu Center, holds several more venues: İsokyo serves Asian dishes drawing on Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai cooking and has a large terrace bar, and the Long Bar is a contemporary take on the original in Singapore. Between them sits a Champagne Bar, while Writers Bar, styled on a gentlemen’s club and inspired by literary figures, is reserved for members and their guests.
For events there is a 1,200-square-metre ballroom and eight conference rooms of different sizes, with capacities from 10 to 1,200 people. The neighbouring Zorlu PSM houses several of the city's concert and event venues, including Turkcell Stage and Turkcell Platinum Stage.

The most annoying issue was the main bathroom door, which could neither be locked nor even fully closed; I don't know how this defect went unnoticed.
