Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 22 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Psili Ammos is situated for couples looking for a quiet beachside retreat. Guests speak of it in exceptionally warm terms. Located at a quiet end of the beach, it features traditional Cycladic design and private balconies with sunset views, where guests can enjoy an in-room breakfast. The beachfront property also houses an on-site restaurant. Limitations to keep in mind include a reliance on off-site public parking only, and a breakfast service that starts later in the morning.
Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 — the average across the 7 hotels we list on Ios is 9.4.
- Situated at the quieter edge of Mylopotas beach, the property offers a peaceful retreat away from the central crowds while maintaining direct access to the sand.
- Each room features a private balcony positioned to capture views of the Aegean Sea and the island's notable evening sunsets.
- While dedicated on-site parking is unavailable, free public parking is located nearby, requiring only a short walk to reach the hotel entrance.
- The buffet breakfast begins at 08:30 am, which might feel slightly late for early risers planning early morning excursions around Ios.

Reviews from Google“WATCH OUT BEFORE YOU BOOK! Please don't fall for the reviews like we did. We felt it was almost a scam because what we paid for was completely the opposite of what we got! We had to check out earlier than planned because THE NOISE WAS UNBEARABLE! The rooms were extremely loud, we couldn't even sleep, and the noise goes on every day from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. The hotel is located just a few meters away from all the beach bars and nightclubs on the island! The worst experience ever! We wish we had checked out on the very first day, but the owner told us its not this loud everyday!! Major WATCH OUT as well: You also have to walk through the taverna to reach the hotel! Imagine walking through a restaurant every single day while people are eating, morning and night. Especially in the morning, when the staff are skinning fish with all the mess on the floor while you're carrying your bags! Not to mention the breakfast, which can't even be called breakfast! It's literally a few pieces of supermarket cheese, a tiny bowl of yogurt, and some eggs. We didn't even bother ordering breakfast the following days and had to eat elsewhere. 3- THE MATTRESS was the worst, it felt like sleeping on the floor. When I asked for a mattress topper, the host simply said, "We don't have one," without even trying to understand the issue or help us, even though we were staying for four days. 4- Very unfriendly hosts. When we checked in, the sister was trying to be kind, but the moment she and her brother realized we weren't happy with our stay, their attitude completely changed. When we checked out, they didn't even bother helping us with our bags, and the owner was extremely rude and unfriendly during the refund process. 5- For a two-star hotel, they were the most expensive on the island while offering the lowest level of service possible. We had to check out and move to another hotel where we paid half the price and received the proper experience and even more than what we paid for. Please save your money and book yourself another place to stay!!! WORST EXPERIENCE AND STAY!”
“A lovely smaller hotel. Location, location, location! It is perched on the rocks overlooking the sea at the leftmost side of Mylopotas beach. Looking out the window you think you are in the sea, it is that close! Our room was on the smaller size, but it was super clean and quite comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Price of the rooms for what was offered was unbelievably good. The hospitality of the owner and the staff was amazing. Bonus: right under the hotel there is the best fish tavern we have ever visited, "Drakos", make sure you have dinner there around sunset time, you won't regret it.”
“We stayed 6 nights, renting 4 bedrooms for a large birthday celebration and ALL of us absolutely loved everything about this place. All bedrooms had amazing sea views, the beds were super comfortable, and it was very clean. The breakfast was fresh and delicious (large variety for each person's tastes) and each day Lola made a gourmet "surprise" and her incredible homemade marmelade options were a big hit for all of us. A total joy as she greeted us with warmth and deep caring each morning. And Stellios was equally a 'super' host as we were always asking questions and looking for recommendations. We always received the best advice, which allowed us to have the most authentic experience of this beautiful island. We rented 2 cars and parking was always easy right at the hotel, and our kids used the bus that was conveniently right there. The sand beach was a nice plus and we actually could snorkel right outside our rooms which was unforgetable- especially for our 10 year old. Now we understand why people come back here every year, and we can't wait to return as soon as we are able to.”
“Beautiful rooms recently refurbished in traditional style. Simply the best location on the island - this family run boutique hotel is a real gem. Thanks to the team for making our stay in Ios so special!”
“A beautiful hotel, perched in the corner on the rocks overlooking Mylopotas beach. A delicious restaurant below with sea views from every room. This family owned spot will take your breath away, and make you want to book your next stay as soon as you leave.”
