What guests say
Reviews from Google“We had a really nice stay at Sumratin Hotel overall and would definitely consider coming back. The hotel is clean and well kept, and the breakfast was honestly one of the highlights. There was a great variety of food every morning, so it never felt repetitive and there was something for everyone. The staff was also great. The receptionists were very attentive and organized. We had an early departure at 5 AM and didn’t even have to remind them about our breakfast—they already knew and had everything prepared, which we really appreciated. Also, on our last night, one of us was celebrating a birthday and they surprised us with a dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. The wellness area is a nice bonus too. The massage was really relaxing, and they also have a salt room and sauna, which made the stay feel a bit more special. Another plus is that the hotel is just a 5-minute walk to the beach, which made it really convenient. There are a couple of small downsides though. The doors seem a bit thin, so we could hear a kid running and talking loudly every morning. Also, the mosquitoes were quite persistent during our stay. We understand this might be common in Dubrovnik, but it would be great if the hotel could do more to manage it. The pool is a bit small, but it’s still nice to have if you want to relax for a bit at the hotel. Overall, we had a great experience with just a few minor inconveniences.”
“After a stressful three-hour flight delay and a frustratingly slow experience at the car rental desk, pulling up to Hotel Sumratin felt like an instant sigh of relief. The moment we stepped inside, the chaotic travel day melted away. The property has a lovely, fresh face and a completely relaxing vibe that immediately allows you to breathe and unwind. Every single member of the staff was incredibly pleasant and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome from the very start. Our room was absolutely flawless. It was incredibly spacious, featuring high-quality air conditioning that was a lifesaver, and a lovely balcony perfect for sitting out and relaxing. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was equally lovely, with a fantastic high-pressure shower. After a quick shower and a change of clothes, I felt like a completely new woman and was ready for dinner. Dining at Val Rooftop Restaurant was an absolute highlight of our trip. The space offers beautiful, sweeping panoramic views over Lapad, creating a fabulous and upscale atmosphere. The culinary experience was magnificent. I began with the beef tartare, which was seasoned beautifully and executed perfectly. For the main course, I had the 8-hour brisket. It was incredibly melt-in-the-mouth delicious, a rich, slow-cooked dish that is absolutely not to be rushed. Savouring every bite as the sun slowly set over the water was pure magic. We finished a wonderful dinner with their in-house made mint ice cream, which was exceptionally fresh and the perfect sweet note to end on. After dinner, we took a lovely stroll around the area. The hotel is situated right in the center of everything, yet it remains entirely peaceful. The beach is a mere three minute walk away. As a massive bonus for anyone driving the underground car park spaces are massive! I was initially quite worried about navigating a tight underground garage with a rental car, but the spaces here are huge—you could honestly park a bus in them! 😁We were genuinely sad to leave the very next day. It was such a lovely stay. Thank you, Hotel Sumratin—we will absolutely be back!”
“We stayed at Hotel Sumratin in Lapad, Dubrovnik, for a four-night extended weekend break, and it completely lived up to the excellent reviews we had read. The hotel is modern, stylish, and tastefully designed. Our sea-facing room was spacious, comfortable, and very inviting. Breakfast offered a great variety of fresh, delicious options, catering to all tastes. We also dined in the hotel restaurant one evening, and it was a truly magical experience, made even more special by an excellent live duet performing familiar songs. The surrounding Lapad area is perfect for both families and couples, with a fantastic selection of restaurants, cafés, and bars. The scenic walk along the beautiful coastline was one of the highlights of our stay. We also spent several wonderful days exploring Dubrovnik’s medieval Old Town. The number 6 bus runs frequently, takes around 15 minutes, and costs less than €2 each way, making it an easy and inexpensive trip. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Hotel Sumratin to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.”
“I don't often write reviews, but Hotel Sumratin truly deserves one. My daughter and her boyfriend were staying at the hotel while celebrating his birthday in Dubrovnik. From the United States, I contacted the hotel to ask if it might be possible to arrange a small birthday surprise for him. I expected perhaps a suggestion for something I could purchase. Instead, Katarina at the Front Desk responded with one of the warmest and most thoughtful emails I have ever received. She assured me that everything would remain a surprise and wrote that the staff would prepare "a beautiful, warm, and personal birthday message" and create "a truly special and memorable experience." They exceeded every expectation. The hotel surprised him with a beautifully decorated chocolate birthday cake and the birthday card I had written. He was completely surprised, and both he and my daughter were genuinely touched by the thoughtful gesture. It turned an already wonderful vacation into a memory they will always cherish. In today's world, exceptional customer service is rare. Hotel Sumratin demonstrated genuine kindness, attention to detail, and a sincere commitment to making their guests feel valued. They didn't have to do any of this, but they chose to, and that speaks volumes about the people who work there. My heartfelt thanks to Katarina and everyone at Hotel Sumratin for helping create such a meaningful birthday celebration. Your generosity and hospitality made all the difference, and I would recommend your hotel without hesitation to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.”
“Hotel Sumratin exceeded every expectation and made our stay truly memorable. The setting alone is remarkable, with beautiful Mediterranean oak trees casting a deep, natural shade over the spacious restaurant outdoor seating area, creating an unusual calm. The newly build suites were modern, impeccably clean and very comfortable including the most amazing bed. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax and unwind. Breakfast was simply outstanding, fresh fruit, breads and cheese options tasted very local and authentic. The hotel staff were consistently warm, attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. A wonderful experience overall, and a place I would gladly return to.”
