Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 20 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Hotel Lux Alpinae is for travellers who would rather stay somewhere with character than in a classic Tyrolean hotel. The family-run house on the western edge of St. Anton is built from concrete, wood and glass, its rooms open onto the mountains through wall-sized windows, and guests talk warmly about a team that makes them feel at home. Breakfast is a highlight, and in winter half board brings a five-course dinner. The location is the main compromise. The cable cars are about ten minutes away on foot, so skiers depend on the free shuttle, and the centre is a walk along the main road. Some guests found the pillows too soft, the Wi-Fi weak and the rooms warm in summer, and the wellness area is limited to a sauna and a steam bath. Couples and friends who value design, views and a personal welcome will enjoy it; those who want ski-in access or a big spa should look elsewhere.
Guests score it 9.0 out of 10 — the average across the 8 hotels we list in St. Anton am Arlberg is 9.2.
- The staff are what guests mention most, and several name individual team members for making them feel welcome. The family running the house lives on site, which guests say gives it a relaxed, personal feel.
- Guests describe the hotel as quirky, artistic and full of character, with every corner carefully thought out. The mix of concrete, wood and light is very different from a traditional Tyrolean hotel.
- The hotel sits on the main road at the western end of the village, about ten minutes on foot from the cable cars, so most skiers rely on the shuttle. Some guests also found parking awkward.
- Several guests found the pillows too soft and wished for firmer ones, and one couple found the mattresses hard. It is worth asking for different pillows on arrival.
