Tripplo’s hotel summary

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 22 October 2026 · How we review hotels

This property is ideal for travellers seeking direct shopping access alongside classic views of the Nile and the Pyramids. Guests benefit from direct access to The First Mall and the hotel's wellness facilities, while the restaurants range from modern Lebanese cuisine at the poolside Aura to the dining venues aboard the First Nile Boat. However, the hotel is located away from central downtown Cairo, and the traditional colonial decor may feel dated to some.

Located on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Four Seasons Cairo At The First Residence blends classic colonial elegance with modern luxury. The property offers a self-contained retreat complete with high-end shopping, diverse dining, and views of the Pyramids. It is particularly well-suited for leisure travelers and families seeking a relaxed pace away from the city's central bustle.

Guests score it 8.6 out of 10 — the average across the 8 hotels we list in Cairo is 8.8.

  • Many guest rooms and public spaces face westward, offering clear sightings of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Nile River. This makes for a highly scenic backdrop during sunset.
  • The hotel is physically integrated with The First Mall, giving guests immediate access to high-end boutiques, service outlets, and casual dining options without leaving the property.

“We just wanted to let you know how fabulous our experience at the Cairo Four Seasons First Residence was in Dec and January. The hotel is very comfortable and the ambiance luxurious. Your staff are absolutely fantastic. I would like to especially mention the front desk staff and most importantly Mr. Mohamed Amir in the restaurant who made us feel like honored guests.”

“This should not be a Four Seasons Hotel. It is very old and in a terrible part of Cairo. They should shut down for a complete refurbishment. Lobby looks like a 2 star hotel. Nothing fancy about their lobby or common facilities. You need to go into the mall next door to find their cafe. Once in the room, coffee machine was dirty, sofa cushions don’t match, curtain tracks are so rusted they do not close. The absolute worst thing - used bar soap put back into the box.”

“I had a wonderful stay at the hotel, as always. It truly did not disappoint and lived up to the high standards I associate with this brand. The overall experience was excellent, from the atmosphere to the service. The only small area where I expected a bit more was the cuisine. Given that this is a Four Seasons hotel, my expectations were slightly higher in this regard. Nevertheless, the dining experience was still good. I would especially like to express my sincere gratitude to Asala Elkholy, who was exceptionally kind, helpful, and attentive. Her professional yet very warm and human approach made a real difference to my stay. Thank you for your outstanding service and genuine care.”

“It is a wonderful place to wind down at our end of tour in Egypt. The service, facilities and staff are all up to the par of 4 seasons brand. We had a premium Nile view room, which is a partial view from two different windows, because the resident building is in front of the hotel building. So set up the realistic expectations, but the room is spacious and luxurious. We definitely enjoyed it with the Nile view despite not being a panoramic view of Nile. We would definitely stay here again.”
