Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 21 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens suits travellers who want a pine-clad peninsula estate on the Athenian Riviera with three private beaches. The resort features eight restaurants, five tennis courts, and a private beach area. Its primary trade-off is the location, as the Athens city centre is a 30–40 minute drive away, and peak-season rates are high.
Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 — the average across the 7 hotels we list in Athens is 9.3.
- The hotel spreads across a 30-hectare estate on the Vouliagmeni peninsula, with its two buildings, Arion and Nafsika, set among the pines.
- The estate has three private beaches, where windsurfing, sea kayaking and snorkelling are on offer.
- The Riviera location is the point, but sightseeing days at the Acropolis mean a drive or transfer into central Athens.
- High summer carries a clear premium, so the shoulder months are the gentler option on the budget.

Reviews from Google“Loved our entire experience here. Service was incredible from the front door men to the concierge staff and housekeeping. Views are breathtaking. Food options are all top notch (except, sorry to say, Helios needs some serious work). Absolutely gorgeous gym. The kids club was really the hit for our family as my kids were entertained for hours and made friends and those friendships followed them out to the pool and beach. Having my children happy and entertained made for such a beautiful experience.”
“Our stay at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens was nothing short of amazing. The property is truly special and has a little bit of everything, all done with class. From the moment we arrived, Manager Maxime Regad and General Manager Jann Kaiser went out of there way to make sure everything was perfect. They were both incredibly accomodating and genuinely cared that we had a wonderful stay. The views every morning over the Peninsula were absolutely breathtaking. Sitting outside with coffee watching the water never got old. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at any hotel, with a huge selection and excellent quality. The gym was also fantastic, modern, spacious and very well equiped. One thing we really enjoyed was the clientele. The hotel attracts a very sophisticated international crowd. During our stay there were multiple celebrities and government officials that were easily recognizable, yet everyone respected each other’s privacy which added to the atmosphere. Service throughout the hotel was warm, polished and effortless. Every member of the staff seemed happy to help and nothing ever felt forced. You can tell this property is extremely well managed from top to bottom. This is one of those rare hotels that gets almost everything right. We left wishing we had booked a longer stay and already cant wait to come back. Highly recommended.”
“As many people pointed out, this hotel has a great location with stunning views and nice landscaping. Breakfast and lunches in Mercato were very pleasant, on a great outside terrace, with very good service and good food. However we also faced many issues. First of all rooms are quite small (more room sizes for a Marriott or Novotel level) and furniture is quite bulky what makes small room feeling worse . This FS got converted from an existing hotel, Astir Palace, where we stayed a few times before. As pointed out by others, this hotel is many times also a party hotel (mostly for weddings) and music might be heard until early morning. There is also some level of sewage smell (as pointed out by others). Worst in our case were presence of bed bugs (and my spouse being seriously bitten), obviously indicative that there are maintenance issues (as also pointed out by some others). What was even more shocking was that there was virtually no recognition of the massive inconveniences created by this issue (that should never happen at hotels, and for sure not a Four Seasons hotel. One would have expected some level of recognition, even if only a handwritten note apologizing, some flowers or others ways to recognize us for this major inconvenience. In this case, nothing except for moving rooms and promises for a report that would be made by an expert firm. This Four Seasons is - except for location and Mercato - well below other FS hotels (e.g. in Bangkok), and will need to improve a lot related to customer service (in order to justify their 2K euros per night fees). We won't be back and will not recommend his hotel”
“The Four Seasons Astir Palace in Athens is truly an exceptional destination and one that we would gladly return to. From the moment you arrive, the property feels like a private seaside retreat, nestled in its own beautiful cove with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. If you’re booking a room, I highly recommend reserving a water-view room. Waking up to those views is worth every penny and is one of the highlights of the entire experience. The resort offers several excellent dining options, including Matsuhisa, which occupies a stunning location perched at the edge of the cove. While we felt the food wasn’t quite as exceptional as some other Matsuhisa locations we’ve visited, it was still very good, and the setting alone makes it worth experiencing. Service throughout the property is absolutely top-notch. Every staff member we encountered was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I also enjoyed a massage at the spa, which was terrific. The spa facilities are beautiful and provide a wonderful place to relax and recharge. This is a large resort with multiple pools, excellent restaurants, and plenty of space to spread out. If you’re traveling without children, I would recommend requesting accommodations in the adults-oriented section of the property. Some areas cater more to families and can be a bit noisier, while the quieter sections offer a more peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, the Four Seasons Astir Palace is one of the finest resort experiences we’ve had in Europe. Spectacular views, outstanding service, excellent amenities, beautiful pools, and a stunning setting combine to create a truly memorable stay. If you’re visiting Athens and want a luxury resort experience, this property should be at the top of your list. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“The Beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world, also the service and water sports were something to write home about. We stayed here for 2 nights and each night was more memorable than the last, they set everything up for us. Additionally they have the best assortment of restaurants on the property that they golf cart you to. The best hotel I’ve been to.”
