Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 22 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Calimera Side Resort is a good fit for families who prioritise outdoor activity and practical rooms. It has three outdoor pools – one with water slides – plus two children's pools and landscaped gardens. Note, however, that the beach is about 1 km away and reached by shuttle, and the resort tends to be full in peak season.
Guests score it 8.5 out of 10 — the average across the 7 hotels we list in Side is 9.0.
- The resort's beach area is set up with loungers, parasols and towels for guests. A free shuttle runs between the hotel and the beach several times a day in season, which makes the trip easy for anyone travelling with children or beach gear.
- Three outdoor pools are spread across the grounds – one heated in spring and autumn, one with water slides – alongside two children's pools with their own slides. The mix lets guests choose between livelier and quieter spots depending on the day.
- During the height of summer, common areas such as the poolside terraces and dining rooms can experience significant traffic. Guests seeking a quieter atmosphere may prefer visiting the beach or dining during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.
- The resort does not sit on the sand: the beach is about 1 km away. The free shuttle runs several times a day in season, but you cannot step straight from the pool to the sea, and the timetable sets the rhythm of beach days.

Our tip: Couples should book the Double Room with Pool View for the same twin-bed setup as the Standard Double Room but with a pool outlook. Families of four needing extra sleeping space should choose either the Family Room with Garden View or Family Room with Pool View, both offering 2 twin beds and 2 sofa beds, depending on which outlook you prefer; the plain Family Room offers the same layout if neither view is essential.

Reviews from Google“Wonderful family getaway – highly recommended! We stayed with our family and absolutely loved this hotel. The grounds are cozy, well-kept, and designed with taste and care. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there. Three pools + one with slides. Plenty of sunbeds. Large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Great variety of food, and the grilled dishes were incredibly tasty. We had a clean, well-designed apartment-style room with everything we needed. Special thanks for the excellent daily housekeeping! The staff – simply outstanding. The beach is stunning – wide and sandy. A shuttle runs from the hotel (walking is long and uncomfortable). There's a beach restaurant: free water, tasty food for an extra charge. The old town, shops, and restaurants are all within walking distance. Thank you to the management and staff for the warm atmosphere. We had a fantastic time and would love to come back!”
“The rooms are clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The food selection is rich, and everything is delicious. There are animation shows, live concerts, and various games organized throughout the day. The hotel is also very close to the ancient city of Side, which is a great advantage. I especially loved the pools and the beautiful landscaping. special thanks to Fatime and Aybolek Hanım, as well as all the staff, for their kindness and excellent hospitality.”
“Incredible vacation. We stayed for 5 days and it was so much fun. I want to give a special shout-out to the staff; they were incredibly helpful and lovely. Food was pretty good and overall the resort is pretty clean. Definitely worth a go.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4/5 We have just finished a 6-night stay here and, overall, we had a really enjoyable holiday. Considering what we paid through Jet2, we felt it offered very good value for money compared with similar all-inclusive holidays in Greece or Spain. With a few relatively simple improvements, this hotel could easily be a 4.5 or even 5-star experience. Rooms – 4/5 The rooms are clean, a decent size and have plenty of storage. They include everything you need for a comfortable stay, although the décor is starting to feel a little dated. Food – 3.5/5 The food was generally okay, with a few excellent themed evenings. The BBQ grill outside was definitely one of the highlights. However, the menus became repetitive quite quickly and many dishes were fairly bland. For a 6-night stay it was fine, but I think after 10–14 nights the lack of variety would become noticeable. Drinks – 4/5 A good selection of cocktails, branded soft drinks and Efes beer included, which was a pleasant surprise for an all-inclusive resort. Cleanliness – 4/5 One of the hotel’s strongest points. The cleaners and housekeeping team work incredibly hard and deserve huge credit. The hotel, restaurants and pool areas were kept very clean throughout our stay, with no litter or pest issues at all. Staff – 3.5/5 The restaurant staff, bar staff, cleaners and maintenance teams were all friendly, polite and worked tirelessly from morning until night. The cleaners in particular were always smiling, incredibly polite and are a real credit to the hotel. Unfortunately, our experience with the reception team and some members of the senior management wasn’t nearly as positive. Reception often felt more like visiting a GP surgery than a hotel reception—interactions could come across as cold, abrupt and unwelcoming. Senior management could also improve their communication with both guests and staff. A greater focus on customer service, equality and disability awareness would make a significant difference and would noticeably improve the overall guest experience. Pools & Facilities – 4/5 A good choice of pools with plenty going on throughout the day. The water slides were great fun, especially for children, making this a fantastic family resort. Location – 3.5/5 Close to local shops, bars and restaurants. Side Old Town and the harbour are around a 25-minute walk away, although the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to its private beach, which is a great addition. Entertainment – 3.5/5 There was always something happening throughout the day and evening, and the entertainment team put in plenty of effort. However, some of the evening shows didn’t feel particularly family-friendly. A few performances involved dancers wearing very little clothing, which seemed out of place in a resort aimed at families with young children. Spa – 5/5 The spa deserves a full 5 stars. A special mention to Mustafa, who is incredibly kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain all of the available packages clearly and honestly without making you feel pressured. The Turkish bath and massages were among the highlights of our holiday and are highly recommended. Overall, this is a great hotel for families with children and represents excellent value for money. We genuinely enjoyed our stay, particularly thanks to the hardworking cleaners, restaurant staff, entertainment team and outstanding spa staff. While the food variety, reception service and aspects of customer service from senior management could be improved, these are things that could be addressed quite easily. Would we return? Yes—for another week, absolutely. Six nights felt about right, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a good-value, family-friendly all-inclusive holiday in Side.”
“We have just got home from a week at the resort. I cannot recommend highly enough if you are looking for a family friendly resort. The resort was impeccabley tidy and well maintained, the staff never seemed to stop! Even after a huge thunderstorm and sandstorm they were immediately cleaning, every member of staff got involved. They got the kids pool back open the next day and worked tirelessly on the main pools. Rooms were good size for a family of 4, and like the rest of the resort spotlessly clean Service in the restaurant and bars was brilliant. My daughter loved the alcohol free cocktails and ice cream! Shuttle bus to the beach and sun loungers on the beach are a nice touch Both my children loved the kids disco, and it was a great way to end each day We would book this hotel again if we were in the area”
