Tripplo’s hotel summary
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 20 October 2026 · How we review hotels
This option is tailor-made for adults wanting their own 18+ area with a dedicated restaurant, pool and pool bar. Guests benefit from all-inclusive drinks and snacks served around the clock, and Caleta de Fuste's sheltered beach lies just across from the hotel. However, it operates as a quiet zone within a larger complex, and the local beach is modest compared with Jandía's.
Guests score it 8.2 out of 10 — the average across the 11 hotels we list on Fuerteventura is 8.7.
- Royal Level is an area for guests aged 18 and over, with its own Terra Sana restaurant, an adults-only pool and a pool bar reserved for its guests; the resort's other restaurants, pools and wellness centre are open to them too.
- Barceló's Royal Level programme is all-inclusive by design: buffet meals, bar snacks served buffet-style or as à la carte dishes, and drinks around the clock.
- The Royal Level sits inside the bigger Barceló Fuerteventura Beach Resort — the exclusivity is zoned, not standalone.
- Caleta de Fuste's sandy bay is calm and handy, but it is far smaller than the long beaches around Jandía in the south of the island.

What guests say
Reviews from Google“My partner and I stayed at the Barceló Fuerteventura Royal Level - Adults Only last year, and the experience was genuinely fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is situated in a truly beautiful setting, and the Royal Level effectively delivers on its promise of an exclusive, premium feel. The rooms are wonderful—well-appointed, immaculately kept, and perfectly suited for a sophisticated getaway. A major highlight of our stay was the culinary offering. The food options across the board are fantastic, but I have to give a special mention to Rodizio, the resort's Brazilian steak restaurant. It operates on a brilliant buffet concept where the waiters come directly to your table serving various rotisserie meats right from the skewer. The picanha was absolutely exceptional; I cannot recommend it enough if you are a fan of flavourful steak. The layout of the wider resort complex is also a significant advantage. Because the various Barceló hotels are situated so close to one another, you have the freedom to venture into and utilize the other hotel areas. While the Royal Level pool is undoubtedly the better option for a tranquil, premium atmosphere, securing a sunbed there can occasionally be tricky. If you don't manage to get one, I highly recommend taking a short walk over to use the pool at the neighboring Barceló Castillo, which has a lovely pool area of its own. Beyond the amenities, the atmosphere throughout the hotel is wonderfully pleasant. The staff consistently go out of their way to help, ensuring that you feel valued and looked after during your entire stay. Overall, it was a flawless experience that perfectly balanced relaxation with high-quality service and dining. I would absolutely go again and highly recommend it to any traveller seeking an elevated, adults-only retreat.”
“My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Barcelo Fuerteventura Royal Level - Adults Only part of this hotel complex earlier in May 2026. First impressions were good and this continued. The suites are spacious and we particularly appreciated the separate lounge and bedroom areas. Towels were replaced on a daily basis and bed sheets were changed when we requested. We were on a half-board basis and generally the food was good. The breakfast buffet was extensive and there was an option to order some dishes from a menu that would be brought to your table. I had eggs benedict on one occasion. The only let down at breakfast was the drinks system. Tea and coffee was served by the waiting staff and in many instances they were lukewarm by the time they reached us from the dispensing area in the dining room. The food at the dinner buffet was OK but there was room for improvement. We weren't keen on the 'themed evenings'. The negative points, resulting in our 4/5 rating were: room cleaning could have been improved, and the restocking of the coffee and tea supplies was a bit hit-and-miss. We also experienced spurious fire alarm activation on two occasions, one during the day when we getting ready for dinner but, more intrusively, one at 11:45pm when we were asleep in bed. One of the maintenance staff paid a visit a couple days later, but we never had a satisfactory explanation of the cause of the problem. The outlook from the pool and dining terrace was spectacular and we never had a problem getting a sunbed. We have booked to return in September. Whilst we have returned to some hotels in past we have never done it as quickly as this before.”
“Home after 2 week All Inclusive holiday here, with friends. Excellent hotel, with very different accommodation, suites arranged in 2s and 4s. Each has terrace or balcony, carefully sited so not overlooked. Hotel clean and well maintained, with lots planting, but the surface of the red pathways in some areas could do with a refresh. The pool area is beautiful and inviting with no shortage of sunbeds and parasols. The buffet provided good choices of food, only occasionally running out of some options in the evenings. All staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful, always smiling. Must mention by name Yasmir, Daniel and Melissa. We were amazed to find that cocktails we requested were all included, whereas in some other hotels, certain cocktails would be an extra. We have always found evening hotel entertainment to be very variable and usually disappointing, but were very surprised with the high quality of the acts here, and thoroughly enjoyed our evenings. The only negative for us was that the bar could be quite cool in the evenings, some side protection from the wind would have been helpful. Maybe the extension work will address that. We were forewarned by Jet2 that there would be some building work in the restaurant area, but were glad we stuck with our booking. Yes it could be noisy at times, but no dust, and we were fascinated by the speed of construction. Easy access to the promenade meant lots of lovely wanders round the bay and to the marina. We enjoyed being able to call in at the other Barcelo hotels for drinks and icecreams, and loved the mini golf, but were pleased we had chosen the Royal Level adults only section.”
“We stayed at Barceló Fuerteventura Royal Level from July 11th and had a deeply disappointing experience, far below what "Royal Level" promises. Our assigned room was in extremely poor condition: visible built-up dirt on the curtains, worn and damaged walls, a dirty floor, stains on the sofa, and glasses with visible marks from previous use (see the photos attached). When we asked to change rooms, the alternative offered was in exactly the same state. When we raised this with staff, the Guest Experience Manager (Jiuysy Spada) was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful, and at one point laughed in our faces while we were visibly upset. About 90 minutes later she returned with Maria Torres Martin (Assistant General Manager), who also took an extremely aggressive and disrespectful tone, interrupting us repeatedly and implying we should simply leave the hotel as the only solution they could offer. We falsely stand accused of things that never happened, based on claims neither manager could substantiate. Beyond this incident, the whole stay felt chaotic and disorganized — nothing about the experience matched the "Royal Level" positioning or price point. We've stayed at many hotels and have never encountered this level of rudeness and unprofessionalism from hotel management. We've filed formal complaints with Barceló and the relevant consumer authorities in the Canary Islands, but please save your braincells and do not give your money to this questionable organization”
“We stayed half board at RLAO and had a fantastic experience. We found the choice of food in the adults only buffet excellent at both breakfast and dinner. The gym at the Thallasso Spa provided decent options for a good few visits during our stay. The pool opens straight onto the prom which was great for runs/walks first thing and the roof top bar at the end of the marina was fantastic for sunset drinks before dinner (not included) all in all a superb choice for a fly & flop winter break, we’ve booked to return next year 😃”
