The property offers direct access to Monolithos Beach, an infinity pool overlooking the Aegean, and private balconies with sea views. For dining, there are vegetarian-friendly options. Potential drawbacks include its location away from busy nightlife and the relatively simple room decor.

Situated on the quieter eastern coast of Santorini, Aelia Thalassa offers a relaxed beachfront retreat away from the island's bustling tourist hubs. With its understated modern rooms, infinity pool, and direct access to Monolithos Beach, it provides a tranquil base for families and couples. It is best suited for those prioritizing seaside peace and simple coastal comfort over high-energy nightlife.

“This hotel markets itself as a 5-star property, but our experience was far from it. We booked an Executive Suite with Private Pool and Sea View. In reality, the main view from the terrace and pool was a parking lot, cars, a road and power lines. Yes, the sea is visible, but only partially. The room did not match the advertised standard. The bathroom showed heavy limescale, deteriorated silicone seals, visible mold and poor maintenance. The shower drain barely worked and water accumulated around our ankles while showering. Housekeeping was superficial. Used glasses were not properly cleaned, and objects left on the terrace remained untouched for days. The private pool was extremely small and more decorative than functional. The terrace was difficult to use due to the lack of shade and strong winds. We asked whether another room was available and were willing to pay extra if necessary, but no alternatives were offered. Breakfast was very basic for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. Surprisingly, there was no breakfast service on the private terrace. Guests are expected to carry food and drinks themselves from the restaurant, despite the many stairs throughout the property. Communication with guests was disappointing throughout our stay. On departure day, we were pressured to leave immediately at check-out time, despite visible availability online. After many years of travel, we rarely encountered such a large gap between marketing and reality. We do not recommend this hotel and do not believe it meets true 5-star standards.”

“Beautiful hotel with great staff, its an isolated location and only transport to the nearest town Fira cost €25 each way- very expensive, nearest bust stop 2mile away and the pick up locations for trips are not in this resort. Ok if you want to hire a car or just stay in your hotel. Rooms clean and daily service excellent. It would be so much better if the hotel supplied a shuttle bus up to Fira.”

“This is a fantastic hotel away from the madness and crazy. Hiring a car is a must but this is a super central location to explore the Island. Hotel is crisp clean, staff super helpful and friendly, the pool, rooms and restaurant are also awesome. You will not regret your stay here.”
