Admiral Hotel Copenhagen

5-Star Hotel

Welcome to Admiral Hotel Copenhagen, an iconic hotel on the waterfront in the heart of Copenhagen. Here you will be greeted by first-class service and an atmosphere that combines historical charm with modern elegance.

The hotel is housed in a listed warehouse building from the 1780s, right next to Amalienborg and with a view of the Opera House. The unique architecture with Pomeranian pine beams, beautiful brick walls and characteristic vaults creates a very special atmosphere and setting for an unforgettable stay.

Most of the hotel's rooms have exposed beams and offer a minibar, a seating area and a TV with a wide selection of channels. There are of course also tea and coffee making facilities, and in the morning an inviting breakfast buffet with organic ingredients awaits you.

On the ground floor you will find aye aye - the hotel's restaurant directly on the quayside. Here maritime surroundings are combined with social dining. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, where fresh ingredients are celebrated over an open fire. The atmosphere is completed by carefully selected wines and cocktails that play perfectly with the dishes and the view of the harbor.

From the hotel, you can quickly reach the city's vibrant life. Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv are only a five-minute walk away, and you can reach Strøget in less than 10 minutes. Book a trip in the hotel's private electric boat and enjoy a trip in the beautiful canals, or be impressed by the city's attractions, such as the Little Mermaid, aboard the hotel's buggy.

Next to the reception you will find the hotel's two meeting rooms, where you can hold meetings in quiet surroundings in the middle of vibrant Copenhagen. The rooms offer natural light, modern AV equipment and flexible interior design that can be adapted to both small meetings and creative workshops.

Admiral Hotel is the place where there is always more to experience.

Tripplo’s hotel summary

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 21 October 2026 · How we review hotels

This property suits history enthusiasts desiring a waterfront warehouse location near Amalienborg Palace. The hotel showcases preserved original architectural details and a quayside organic breakfast buffet. One limitation is that the historic layout limits some space, and on-site parking is limited.

Set in a landmark 1780s warehouse on the Copenhagen harbor, Admiral Hotel Copenhagen seamlessly marries rustic maritime heritage with refined Danish design. Located next to Amalienborg Palace, it offers a sophisticated base for culturally minded travelers seeking a distinct sense of place.

Guests score it 8.9 out of 10 — the average across the 9 hotels we list in Copenhagen is 8.9.

  • Housed in a meticulously restored 1780s grain drying house, the property positions guests directly on the harbor, providing scenic waterfront views and direct access to the quayside promenade.
  • Situated in the heart of Copenhagen, the hotel sits steps from the royal residence of Amalienborg, making it highly convenient for exploring Nyhavn and the city's main cultural sites.

“Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The good: the staff were friendly, check-in was quick, and the location is excellent. It’s very close to the center, so we could walk almost everywhere. We also really enjoyed using the bikes, although they seemed better suited for taller people. The room was nice, but the wooden ceiling structure makes it feel a bit tighter than it is. The AC also didn’t cool the room very well, so we mostly relied on opening the window. The shower doesn’t fully close either, which causes some water to leak onto the floor. The biggest downside was the cleaning service. During our 4-night stay, the sheets and trash were only changed when we asked, and the facial tissues were never replaced after they ran out. For a hotel that feels more premium, the housekeeping could definitely be better. Still, the great location and friendly staff made the stay enjoyable overall.”

Without a doubt, a hotel we highly recommend and would love to return to.”

“Very nice hotel , bedrooms very nice. Some areas let it down. Location is great close walk to anywhere, lovely new bar . Staff could be nicer , especially girls at check in desk, cold vibe off them. Bathroom lovely but strange smell coming from it a lot of the time. Body wash and shampoo low from day 1, we stayed for 4 nights and never filled up, abit disappointed if I’m being honest. Hotel has potential to be a 4/5 star but some areas of customer service and other areas really let it down. That being said nice place all the same and I hope my Criticism can be taken on board”
